Quinta do Campo is the only one that survives of the ten Agricultural Farms implanted in the Coutos de Alcobaça by the Cistercian Monks during the construction of the Monastery of Santa Maria (Centuries. XII and XIII) and constitutes a comfortable unit of Housing Tourism and Cultural Animation. It is the only Portuguese estate classified as a Property of National Public Interest (2005), as it is the only example in Portugal of the medieval architecture of Cistercian farms and the best preserved in the Iberian Peninsula.
On the ground floor level, the main house consists of eight bedrooms. These are accessible from a central corridor that runs longitudinally through the house. Ceilings, walls and fireplaces are richly decorated in wood and stucco, as are the entrance hall, library and living room. The first floor is also characterized by having a longitudinal corridor, which distributes to the nine
Superior rooms. At one of the tops of the house we find: living room, dining room, kitchen and office. There is also an upper floor (attic), which is the width of the house, and which gives way to a suite that has a privileged view of the two main gardens of the property.
In the area of the old stables, six 1-bedroom apartments and one 2-bedroom apartment (duplex) were built. All apartments have a terrace overlooking the fields in the floodplain. Show all Show less
