The old town and harbor are the heart of the city, with narrow alleys and surrounded by Venetian mansions and Turkish houses, villas and palazzos, mosques, small churches, and a beautiful, restored synagogue. This central part of Chania is attracting visitors from all over the world. Full of wonderful houses, parks, and squares, Chania is one of the best places to live in Crete. All modern shops and amenities are within a 10-minute walk from the Venetian harbor, as is the sandy beach of Nea Chora. RC626
