Together with the City of Kortrijk, steps have been taken to rezone the area through the creation of a Spatial Implementation Plan (RUP). This plan focuses on seamless integration into the environment, making the site accessible for cyclists and pedestrians through a passageway along Doorniksesteenweg at Park De Blauwe Poort, the green lung of Doorniksewijk. This way, the vibrancy of bustling Kortrijk is extended to the business campus. The design starts from the premise of preserving the valuable front buildings, which together form the gateway and backbone of the redevelopment. The redevelopment aims to maintain the heritage character to the maximum extent without sacrificing functionality and sustainable space use.
