Surroundings
Erpeldange-sur-Sûre is a quiet village at the crossroads of the Oesling and Gutland regions in the north-east of the country. The municipality of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre comprises three towns: Erpeldange/Sûre, Ingeldorf and Burden.
The municipality belongs to the canton of Diekirch and is an integral part of the "Nordstad" urban area, which includes the municipalities of Bettendorf, Colmar-Berg, Diekirch, Ettelbruck and Schieren. This region is considered the Grand Duchy's third-largest development hub, alongside the cities of Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette.
In the center of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, you'll find several small stores and restaurants. In Ingeldorf (9 minutes by car), you'll find several large supermarkets, clothing stores, a pharmacy, household appliance and furniture stores and various car workshops. In Diekirch (6 minutes by car), you'll find a wide variety of restaurants and cafés, as well as a cinema. The Centre Hospitalier du Nord in Ettelbruck is just 8 minutes away by car.
Erpeldange-sur-Sûre offers a number of sporting activities. The town has a sports and cultural center, a soccer pitch and a tennis court. At the "Étang de Mechelsbach" fishing pond, you can spend a relaxing day fishing. There's also a small restaurant.
Erpeldange-sur-Sûre Castle was built in the 12th century as a water fortress. Temporarily used as a church, it now houses the municipal administration.
The area around Erpeldange-sur-Sûre is a hiker's paradise. A total of 34 hiking trails and 16 cycle paths criss-cross the region and invite you to explore.
Direct access to the A7 Route du Nord takes you to Kirchberg in just 30 minutes. The towns of Ettelbruck and Diekirch are only 10 and 6 minutes respectively by car.
Mobility
The Nordstadbus was created to develop mobility between the communities of the "Nordstad". From Colmar-Berg via Warken and Erpeldange-sur-Sûre to Moestroff, two bus routes run regularly between the south and north of the "Nordstad". Route 512 runs from Moestroff to Warken via Bettendorf, Gilsdorf, Diekirch, Ingeldorf and Erpeldange-sur-Sûre.
The "Beim Schlass" and "An der Gewan" bus stops are in the immediate vicinity and are served by bus routes 518, 543, 550 and 552 with a frequency of around 60 minutes.

The town of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre is taking part in the introduction of an eMovin service offering pédelecs (electrically-assisted bicycles) and car-sharing.
The nearest train station is in Ettelbruck (approx. 1.5 km from the residence) and is served by line 10 of the Chemins de fer luxembourgeois (CFL) network, which runs from Luxembourg City to Troisvierges.
