Nestled in the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Rottenmanner Tauern, the area is particularly distinguished by its pristine natural landscapes. The Murtal region offers a diverse range of leisure activities throughout the year. In summer, Hohentauern delights hikers with a 200 km network of trails set amid stunning mountains and natural scenery. From “Bösenstein” to “Paradies,” and from “Himmeleck” to “Hölleralm,” Hohentauern and the Trieben Valley offer hiking and mountain routes for all levels, as well as leisurely cycling paths and exciting mountain bike trails suitable for the whole family. In winter, the Hohentauern ski area is located in close proximity to the chalet. With approximately 11 kilometers of slopes, the ski area is relatively small but, thanks to its altitude, is considered a snow-secure hidden gem.
