Villa Francesca - TrabiaA development property with approved plans for three new houses, Villa Francesca sits in a panoramic position above the coastal village of San Nicola l'Arena, midway between Cefalù and Palermo.A villa with flexible potentialThe property comprises a 1960s Mediterranean-style villa with two independent apartments, set in 2,500m2 of parkland planted with lemon and olive trees. The villa needs updating but the structure is sound, with five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a terrace and covered porticoes. At 140 metres above sea level and just over a kilometre from the coast, it enjoys sea views and cooling breezes. An authorised well provides water year-round, and the mature gardens are maintained by an irrigation system. Development land with approved plansPlanning permission is already in place for three detached houses, each around 120m2, with private gardens exceeding 1,500m2 and even provision for swimming pools. This second lot, the land to be developed, has its own private access. Construction costs will come to about €160,000 per unit, and you will also need to budget for development charges at around approximately €75,000, but completed new properties in this area typically sell for around €230,000. We'll leave the maths to you and your accountants, but there is obvious potential here.Quietly versatile locationSan Nicola l'Arena is a small marina community with basic amenities. Good connections along the coastal highway mean that nearby Trabia, Termini Imerese and Bagheria offer varying degrees of infrastructure, shops and services – all within a twenty minute radius. Palermo itself is reachable by train from San Nicola's little station or in half an hour by car, with the international airport reachable in around 45 minutes. The beach of Cefalù is only 40 minutes to the east. Although the property definitely feels rural, this is actually a quietly very well connected location and well worth consideration as a second home. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

Casa Vaccaro - Altavilla MiliciaSurrounded by over 2,000m² of productive Mediterranean garden, Casa Vaccaro is a two-bedroom semi-detached villa with sea views in the hills above Altavilla Milicia, just half an hour from Palermo.A working garden and outdoor living at its bestThe star of the property is its extraordinary plot: olive trees, citrus groves, figs, pomegranates and almonds flourish across the grounds, while a 100m² paved terrace with a wooden canopy provides a shaded outdoor living room with the sea glinting on the horizon. A traditional wood-fired oven and a 25m² outbuilding – already connected to water and drainage – complete the setup. With the beautiful north Sicilian coast stretching in both directions, the location offers a fabulous views all year year round.Antique character indoorsThe 65m² interior is sold with its period furniture: solid wood chests of drawers, handcrafted sideboards and details that give the home a warmth and dignity rarely found in newer builds. The layout includes a living room with an arched opening to the kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Structurally part of a semi-detached building, the villa has fully separate access and solid boundary walls ensuring total privacy. The perfect position for exploring the islandThe proximity to both Sicily's north coast and internal motorways means that you can get almost anywhere on the island in under three hours. Indeed, most major cities and attractions – including Trapani and Marsala in the west, Agrigento in the South and Catania in the west – are less than a two hour drive. Palermo is only a half hour away, and the idyllic seafront of Cefalu is just a 40 minute drive. Nearby Altavilla Milicia provides a train station that also gives good connectivity by public transport. The nearest beaches are only four kilometres away.Whether you love to explore or are planning on hosting guests who will want to get out and about, there is something amazing to cater to all tastes.Affordable renovation, strong returnsSome targeted work is needed – crack repair, updated finishes, modern heating and cooling – but the investment required is modest relative to the potential uplift in value. The outbuilding is a natural candidate for conversion into an independent guest suite. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

90041 Balestrate

Casa Antonella - BalestrateWith a fabulously convenient location and a recent renovation, Casa Antonella is a perfect pick for a buyer who wants a medium-sized holiday home they can use or rent out with complete convenience.A perfect position for flying visitsThe little villa lies thirty kilometres west of Palermo, with the city's busy airport only half an hour away by car. In the other direction is the great West Sicilian city of Trapani, with the ferry port that connects you to the sensational Egadi Islands and a growing international airport of its own. As well as being able to come and go with ease, then, you'll also be right around the corner from some of Sicily's most beautiful and intriguing landmarks. Besides those two cities you can also reach Marsala, Castelvetrano and Medieval Erice in under an hour, and the idyllic beaches of the Zingaro nature reserve are just across the bay. Not that you even need to travel that far to find a beautiful bathing spot – the closest sandy beach is only a kilometre from your front door.Renovated and ready to useThe home has recently been re-done, both indoors and out. Only the front door and windows are somewhat in need of an upgrade. Everything else is smart and modern, especially the replastered fascias and newly-installed kitchen. As well as this kitchen you'll find a pair of double bedrooms with southern aspect, a bright living room that overlooks the garden, a spacious bathroom with a tub and two ample storerooms. Outdoors the gardens have some nice medium-sized trees including olives and an orange, and an outdoor shower. There is off-street parking for a couple of vehicles.Create the perfect roof terraceIf you can find the capital, we think Casa Antonella has the potential for one final adjustment that would create a fabulous family space and send its rental or resale value through the roof (pun somewhat intended). The current terrace is a narrow strip that hugs the line of the supporting walls on two sides. It gives you a sea view to the north and you could put a narrow table up here or use it for drying clothes, but it's not nearly maximising the potential of the roof.If you can find the funds to flatten the sloping surface and create a walkable terrace that covers the whole area of the villa, you would really be unlocking the potential of the property. This huge elevated expanse would give you a great panorama of the Gulf of Castellammare, and all the space you needed to relax, eat outdoors and soak up the sun. You could even put a little outdoor kitchen up here and it would be unbeatable. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

98054 Furnari

Casa Renato - FurnariA huge sea-facing plot with a view of the Marinello lakes and the Gulf of Tindari, Casa Renato is an intriguing property with enormous potentialTwin cottage with sea viewsThe bricks and mortar on the estate are limited to a pair of cottages. One of these has a kitchen and a sleeping area, the other a living room and a bathroom with a shower. The former is an older building, although renovated with a new kitchen in masonry and colourful tiles, and recently installed windows. The latter, while officially an outbuilding, has a French window and a lovely sea view.Grow your own olives and grapesThe estate spans 10,000m2 of quiet hillside land. Around fifty percent of this estate is given to a huge vineyard, now somewhat overgrown but which has the potential to be regenerated and produce a fulsome crop of grapes every harvest season. Of the remaining land, much is given to an olive grove, where approximately 350 mature trees yield 600 litres of premium quality oil every year. The whole of the estate is classified as agricultural land, which means that you could raise livestock as well as growing any kind of fruit or vegetables here if you chose. An opportunity to develop and buildThe land's size would allow for the construction of a new home measuring up to 110m2, if you have the means to do so. It would certainly offer a spellbinding view, as well as a practical base from which to oversee the growth and collection of the fruit.A neighbouring plot is anticipated to come on the market in the very near future, giving the opportunity to expand the holding even further. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

Terreno con Rustico - SelinunteWithin a kilometre of an iconic archaeological site and a remarkably beautiful beach, Terreno con Rustico in the town of Selinunte is a great piece of land waiting for the right buyer to put up a lovely family villa.7,000M2 of prestige building landThis plot is a long rectangle, a strip measuring 25m by 280m. Connected at one end to the main road that runs into Selinunte, it is flat, arable land with some fine olive trees that must be at least 80 years old, and a copse of about forty pines at the far end. The neighbouring land has not been extensively developed either, meaning that you won't have a feeling of being squeezed in, wherever you decide to put your new villa. There is an existing house about 250m from the road, but this is in very poor condition with questionable foundations, and will almost certainly need to be demolished. The size of the land means that you can build 240m2 of home, more than enough for a three of four-bedroom villa on two floors.A seafront nature reserve and ancient temples on your doorstepThe town of Selinunte is widely renowned for its archaeological park, the largest of its kind in Europe. The ruins of a Greek town have been painstakingly excavated over the years, with some of the most beautiful temples restored to a remarkable condition. If you build a two-storey home these ancient treasures will actually be on display from your upstairs windows and balconies. The park begins just 600m from the entrance to this plot.A less well-known but equally dazzling attraction is the Riserva Naturale Orientata Foce Belice. This protected area covers the beaches, dunes and tall grasses along the coast from Selinunte as you head east towards Sciacca and Agrigento. As well as providing a haven for all manner of wildlife it's a truly unbeatable spot to visit for a day at the beach. The four kilometre strip of sand offers more than enough space for all visitors and the remote location gives you a feeling of total escape from the cares of the world. This is just a kilometre away. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

Villa Due Mari - MondelloAn absolute jewel of a family home, the stately Villa Due Mari is just 300m from the beach of trendy Mondello. An incredibly rare opportunity to buy into the great Sicilian summer experience, it dazzles with immaculate renovation work and perfect presentation.Five bedrooms and three bathroomsThe villa is spread across three floors, with a living room-diner and kitchen on the ground floor, four bedrooms on the first and a self-contained flat on the second. In total there is a huge 240m2 of indoor space, including a wide marble staircase that wraps around an fully functioning elevator. Two kitchens, one in the flat under the eaves, give you the flexibility to entertain in different configurations or perhaps to retain a live-in housekeeper or property guardian. Everything is in pristine condition, and the home is sold fully furnished, inclusive of all contents shown in our virtual tour and photography.A green lawn and an irresistible swimming poolThe 400m gardens are fully enclosed and offer numerous possibilities for family time or entertaining. On the street-side of the west-facing property you will find a small front garden and off-street parking for one car. A flight of steps leads up to a long, open front porch. To the rear is a beautiful deep portico offering 55m2 of covered outdoor space. If we were buying the villa we'd consider enclosing it with glass to hold a winter garden and give us extra living space all year round, but it's stylishly designed and refreshingly cool just as it is. Beyond this, the well-kept lawn leads to the 7x3m swimming pool, an invaluable addition to a home in such a popular location.Beauty and Style, at Home and Around the Corner Mondello is officially a district of Palermo, but has its own distinct identity and is separated from the main city by the towering rocky outcrop of Monte Pellegrino. It is an exquisite natural bay, with a deep white sandy beach and picture-postcard turquoise sea. The gentle entry to the water and shelter offered by the bay makes it an unbeatable spot to bring young children or less confident swimmers. It has been the go-to summer escape for citizens of Palermo since the town's elite started to build villas here at the turn of the twentieth century. The immediately recognisable Liberty architecture, an offshoot of the Art Nouveau movement, was once the prevalent style throughout Palermo, but widespread rebuilding work in the 1960s saw much of it sadly lost. Villa Due Mari is a beautiful example of the style - a time capsule and a piece of the region's cultural heritage. Even better, it stands on the famous via Margherita di Savoia, a central avenue which is noted for its collection of well-preserved Liberty homes. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

90017 Santa Flavia

Casa Maurizio - PorticelloAn advanced renovation project for an experienced or adventurous developer, Casa Maurizio needs a lot of care and attention. In the long run though, we think it offers great value as a two-bedroom family home or a three-apartment guesthouse.Three storey townhouse with a roof terraceThe building has a footprint of about 35m2, and is built on three floors plus a little loft space and what will become the roof terrace. Each level has a pair of rooms, with the front ones facing west and overlooking the street. At present the upper windows have been closed up and the balconies fallen completely through, but by the time you have three new French windows in place the home will be full of natural light, especially in the afternoons. The ceilings are three metres or higher, and the staircases are one above each other on the south side of the property.Planning permission has already been given for the terrace, and this will transfer with the ownership. The only issue to be aware of is that the current certificate will expire in March 2026, meaning that if you're not able to get to work in a hurry you'll need to spend a little more on renewing it.A real renovation challengeThe entire property will need to be redone, with the only exception being the walls, foundations, ground floor and first staircase. The internal floors and ceilings will have to be rebuilt, as will the roof. As we mentioned before, the balconies are missing and all of the electrical and plumbing fittings will need to be added from scratch. Obviously plastering and decoration will be the final stage, along with fitting kitchens and bathrooms. The great advantage of a project that needs this much work is, of course, that you can really shape it to your own needs. If you want a top floor kitchen opening directly onto the roof terrace to make al-fresco dining a cinch, that's absolutely possible. On the other hand, maybe you see the investment potential of three independent apartments, each with a bathroom at the rear and its own self-catering facilities.A friendly, traditional village that's deceptively close to the cityWandering the quiet streets or enjoying an aperitivo in front of the tranquil marina of Porticello, you would have no clue that you were only twenty minutes from Italy's fifth-largest city. The peninsula of Capo Zafferano screens Palermo from view, and instead you have the lovely landscape of green hills rising up from the Gulf of Termini Imerese. However, you can get into Sicily's capital city in twenty minutes by car, and the same time if you take a train from the nearby Santa Flavia station. This makes Casa Maurizio perfect for someone moving to Palermo for work but dreaming of a quiet home life outside the city, or a regular visitor who needs to switch off from the world just 45 minutes from a major international airport. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

Casa Maria - PorticelloOn the outskirts of the picturesque fishing town of Porticello, ten kilometres east of Palermo, Casa Maria is a family home on the lower floor of a two-property villa. It's star appeal comes from the 200m2 roof terrace, of which it has exclusive use.135M2 of beautifully presented indoor spaceCasa Maria is divided into a 30m2 reception room, two bedrooms, a spacious kitchen-diner, a more formal dining room and two bathrooms. One of these is for family use, the other is en-suite to the master bathroom, and both have showers. The kitchen is a lovely big room, with all the floor space necessary to fit a dining table and chairs, and a walk-in larder. The bedrooms are also very comfortably sized, 16m2 and 19m2 respectivelyThe apartment is in great condition, good as new with no investment needed. Decoration is simple but uniform, with marble floors and wooden doors and trim throughout. The matching fixtures in the primary kitchen and bathrooms are included in the asking price. With would think about using the dining room as a third bedroom, or perhaps a comfortable lounge with a sofa bed to give you extra flexibility.Huge open roof terrace with a partial sea viewThe main attraction is on the roof, accessed by a communal staircase but not shared with anyone else. Up here you'll find all the sunshine and fresh air you could ever need, and a wooden pergola offers shade over what is currently an outdoor kitchen. The units won't remain in place, but the wooden structure is fully certified and built to last. Connections for water, gas, electricity, drainage and even a dishwasher mean that you could very easily enclose this a bit more and give yourself a beautiful south-facing family room with cooking facilities and even a bathroom. The view from the south-eastern corner is particularly good, with the waters of the Gulf of Castellammare visible 500m away in the middle distance.Wonderful location for beach, countryside and cityIf you like the idea of living in small town Sicily but don't want to give up on all the opportunities and infrastructure that a big city has to offer, Porticello is a marvellous spot. The state road that runs close by the property will take you into the outskirts of Palermo in twenty minutes, and you'll find a huge shopping centre, medical facilities and all kinds of larger stores. If you're heading into the centre you can save yourself the stress of hunting for a parking space by taking the train from Santa Flavia station, only five minutes from your front door on foot. This can also take you to the eastern Sicilian city of Messina, the stunning beach of Cefalù or the airport on the other side of Palermo. Appartamento Giusi - Termini ImereseIn the friendly market town of Termini Imerese, just half an hour from Cefalù and Palermo, Appartamento Giusi is a cosy little studio on the second floor of a corner terrace townhouse with a lovely sea-view balcony. A complete renovation and full furnishingThe apartment is being fully renovated, and will be delivered with all of the work finished. You can expect a floor in Portuguese marble and windows in original wood with double glazing. The fitted kitchen will include an oven, induction hob and fridge freezer decorated with a backsplash in local majolica tiling. Everything is well lit thanks to the French windows that lead you out onto that lovely sea-view balcony. The bedroom area will have a 140cm bed and a high quality mattress to guarantee you a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom will include a box shower as well as a washing machine, plus the usual suite of ceramics. A small washroom will link this to the main body of the apartment, and from here you will also be able to access a storeroom at the far end of the building, under a flight of stairs.Offered for sale subject to pre-contractThe vendor is seeking a buyer who is prepared to make a deposit in order to finish the renovation work. The great advantage of this is that while you will still receive an apartment that is in pristine condition, you will avoid all of the hard work and frustrations that can come with renovating your own property. This is especially advantageous if you're buying in Sicily for the first time - we love our island but the pace at which things get done can take a bit of getting used to! So we see the pre-sale agreement as a really big point in favour of Appartamento Giusi.A practical location moments from the seaTermini is a very traditional Sicilian town and although it has an abundance of history, it is in no way spoilt by tourism. The nearby ruins of the ancient spa town of Imera are a short drive away, and the castle and medieval village of Caccamo can be reached in 20 minutes. Beach lovers will be amazed by how easy it is to reach Cefalù by road or rail, with the Termini Imerese station only ten minutes walk from Appartamento Giusi. This can also bring you right into the heart of Sicily's intoxicating cultural and commercial capital, Palermo. With the sun-drenched sands of the Tyrrhenian coast on one side of you and the green hills of the Madonie Natural Park on the other, this is a stellar spot to give yourself a base in Sicily at such a tempting price. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

90010 Gratteri

Casa Viola - GratteriA historic little home in the heart of one of our favourite Sicilian villages, Casa Viola in Gratteri is a real winner at the affordable asking price.Intelligently used space on four floorsThe cosy little town house in fact offers 95m2 of living space, with a simple floor plan that sees one main room and one secondary space on each level. Starting from the bottom, we find two double bedrooms on the lowest two storeys of the property, each of which is actually set below the street level but open at the far side thanks to the steep hillside on which the house has been built. On both of these floors is a bathroom with a shower, one an en-suite and the other accessed off the little landing. The ground floor proper has a hallway with plenty of space for storing coats, shoes and so forth. Around the corner is a living room with a miniature balcony. Finally, the top level is home to the kitchen-diner, with bench seating in a nook under the window and all the fittings you would expect. We've saved the best for last though – the square terrace lets natural light flood into the kitchen and gives you an unbelievably nice option for outdoor dining, with a panoramic view that takes in practically the whole of Gratteri and much of the green surrounding countryside. It's a real treat that everyone is certain to love.Traditional, warm and welcomingThe current owners of Casa Viola have put real effort into the presentation of the home, and you will find it in very good condition. There is no need whatsoever to renovate or invest anything beyond the purchase price. We particularly like the blue and white ceramic tiles which have been used throughout, and which give the property a really distinctive identity. You'll find them underfoot in the entrance, all the rooms and on the upper staircase, and they've also been used to fully tile the two bathrooms.Other charming and distinctively Sicilian features include the exposed roof timbers on the ceilings of the bedrooms and kitchen. Up here you will also surely be charmed by the built-in brick oven, right in the middle of the room. It's not something you'll use every day - and as you can see there is also an alcove that's perfect for a more modern oven – but it does make a great centrepiece and on special occasions you can prepare your food in the historic style of the region.Natural wonders in all directionsGratteri is a scenic spot in the middle of the Madonie Park, with wonderful views and enticing driving roads and hiking trails in all directions. If you like your outdoor time a little more sedate, it's just seven kilometres to the north coast, where you'll find golden sandy beaches in all directions. A particular highlight is the iconic beach town of Cefalù, which you can reach in half an hour. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

90010 Gratteri

Casa Maurizio - GratteriA two-bedroom home on three storeys, Casa Maurizio in the idyllic Madonie Park village of Gratteri is available at an enticing price.80mq of beautifully maximised living spaceThe floor plan of Casa Maurizio is a simple one, with a versatile living room on the ground floor and two bedrooms above. You'll find a bathroom with a shower on both the ground and top levels, and there is also a handy loft space above the stairwell off the second bedroom. The second floor also offers a small balcony, from which you can enjoy views over the nearby rooftops to the green hills and rocky mountains of the Madonie. We found the ground floor especially welcoming, with the single space having been laid out to accommodate a cosy lounge area, a dining table and a Sicilian-style built-in kitchen. This is simple but effective, with a gas hob, sink, marble worktop and fridge freezer. The food preparation area is especially well-lit, with natural light from a street-view window.Beautiful Renovation Work on Show and Behind the ScenesThe property was entirely renovated by the current owners, both structurally and cosmetically, and the work is top class. Hidden away out of sight are the insulation on the wooden roof and the flue system which carries heat from the open fireplace on the ground floor up throughout the entire house. The fascia has been completely refreshed, with modern wooden windows and external shutters.Perhaps our favourite element of the work is in the interior design choices, though. The living room is a mix of warm yellow plaster and exposed stone, balancing historic charm with sunny tones. Above your head the original wooden timbers of the ceiling are perfectly showcases, and underfoot a dark ceramic tile perfectly picks up on those natural shades. The stairs and first floor bedroom have a charming local tile pattern.A natural park steeped in tradition and filled with dazzling viewsThe village of Gratteri is home to around a thousand people, of which over twenty families have bought their homes through our agency. We are always delighted to recommend the charming hilltop hamlet for its panoramic views and welcoming locals. It's found about 700m above sea level, and convenient for exploring the whole of the Madonie Park. Within twenty minutes you can be down at sea level, on the beaches of the island's north coast which include the unforgettable seafront of Cefalù, only a 25 minute drive away. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

90014 Casteldaccia

Villa Tiziana - CasteldacciaAn oasis of calm fifteen miles outside Palermo, Villa Tiziana is an elegant six-bedroom home with sea views and a shady garden.A phenomenal location, almost at the water's edgeOne kilometre east of Casteldaccia in the province of Palermo, between the state road and motorway that follow Sicily's north coast and the shore of the Tyrrhenian Sea, a little stretch of residential development follows the sandy beaches. This is a quiet neighbourhood characterised by large villas organised along private cul-de-sacs, and midway along one of these we find Villa Tiziana. The street is gated, with the maintenance costs of the private road shared by a small number of residents. In return they enjoy private access to a lovely little sandy bay, which is otherwise reachable only by sea. From the northern corner of the semi-detached property to the water's edge is not even 100m as the crow flies – you will be able to hear and smell the salt water from every outdoor space of your huge Sicilian beach house.A huge, versatile villa sleeping a dozen in comfortThe three storeys of this semi-detached villa are efficiently divided, with a minimum of passageways and hallways and an emphasis on community. Everything indoors begins from the 45m2 living room-cum-diner; a focal point for family life that connects to the gardens, the kitchen, a bathroom and three bedrooms.Upstairs a sunny landing leads you to three more double bedrooms, each of which opens directly onto the deep open terrace. From here you can take an external staircase up to the flat roof, from where you can enjoy a fantastic 360 degree panorama that takes in lush green hills, pristine white homes and sparkling turquoise sea, all under the vast blue canopy of the Sicilian sky.Underground, a basement offers storage space across the full size of the building; over 60m2 which could in the future become a home gym, family room or even a studio apartment.Furnished and habitable: no further investiment neededThe vendors have only made Villa Tiziana their summer home, meaning that despite being nearly half a century old it has aged very well. A pair of the bedrooms downstairs are recent additions, and one of the upper ones has been renovated with a new floor and a lovely feature wall. Any renovation work would be purely a question of personal taste, priorities or aesthetics. The windows are single-glazed but beautifully made in solid wood. The bathrooms are original from the 1980s, but still work with no issue. The outdoor kitchen could be refreshed but the stone ovens are there forever. The basement would need work to be used as a living space, but does the job of a large storeroom perfectly. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?

98070 Galati Mamertino

Casa dei Nonni - Galati MamertinoWith stunning views and an enticing price tag, Casa dei Nonni is a slice of the most traditional Sicily in a beautiful natural park.Three bedrooms and a covered roof terraceThe property is built on four floors, with the lowest a semi-basement accessible from an adjacent street. The main body of the home is on the ground, first and second floors, with one bedroom on each. Two of these are cosy doubles with direct sea views through north-facing windows. The master, on the first floor, is twice the size and in addition to the same window as the others has a balcony overlooking the street outside. The ground-floor kitchen is brightly lit from a large street-facing window, and kitted out with a blue suite of oven, gas hobs, cupboards, double sink and fridge-freezer that is only ten years old. The small family bathroom on the first floor has a tub with a shower attachment and smart white tiling. On the top floor, the terrace measures 18m2 and gives you a great panorama over much of the village and the hills that rise around it on three sides. It is afforded shade by a fixed canopy and would make a lovely family space for relaxing afternoons or outdoor meals.Sicily's largest unspoilt wildernessThe Natural Park of the Nebrodi Mountains is the largest expanse of protected land in the whole of Sicily, and stretches from the beaches and marinas of the Tyrrhenian coast to the foothills of Mount Etna in the south. Along the way it unfolds as a thrilling landscape of mountains and lakes, forests and rivers which provide a home to innumerable species of flora and fauna.Galati Mamertino, where Casa dei Nonni stands, is a little community of around two thousand residents at an altitude of 800m above sea level. It's one of the last stops you come to before the centre of the natural park, which is completely free from towns and villages, spreads out over a vast area of 80,000km2.A welcoming community with close family tiesSince it was built in the 1970s, Casa dei Nonni has remained in the same family, and you will find that this is typical of much of the real estate in these traditional inner-Sicilian villages. Galati Mamertino is a warm and friendly place with a chance to really get under the skin of authentic Sicilian life.It does have all the modern conveniences you need, however, with supermarkets and smaller shops, a pharmacy and post office, and a smattering of bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the property. You will also appreciate the fibre optic internet cabling and the efficient public services. For a full description of the property please visit our website Meer weten?
